A little about the name first: Paper Dali is wordplay. The first part is for, well, paper. And Dali is after Salvador Dali, the surrealist painter and photographer. He mixed all types of images and colors together to match the vision in his mind. Though my style is definitely more cartoonish than Dali, the name itself pays respect to another oddball artist. And it is neat that Dali is often read like "dolly."

Now about the gal playing with Paper Dali: My name is Veronica Maria. A bunch of random facts about me, so we can all be friends here: I scribble in notebooks, doodle on coffeeshop napkins, read too many history and historical fiction books, watch classic movies, wander through nature centers, homeschool a triad of little kids and daydream.

I like history. I like doodling. So, when I couldn't find historical paper dolls and coloring pages to go along with our history curriculum, I decided to make my own. Why not, eh? After drawing the figures for our Ancient History studies, I drew a few more for the upcoming Advent and Christmas seasons.

Then I just kept drawing --- and here we are!
